New research shows that ovary function in transgender men is preserved one year after starting testosterone therapy. Endometrium thickness is also unchanged.
According to The Williams Institute at the UCLA School of Law, the percentage of the U.S. adult population that identifies as transgender was 0.6 percent in 2016 versus 0.3 percent in 2011.
This research is important as many transgender men and their partners may want to have their own children.
The research is being presented today at ENDO 2019, The Endocrine Society’s annual meeting in New Orleans, LA.
